Print Stamp Paint Glue

Class Description:
This is a perfect class for those who are a little nervous about taking art classes. The vibe is welcoming, supportive and relaxed as you get into the zone of creating your own style of artworks. Our instructor pulls out a wide range of tools and supplies to play with while working on various projects throughout the 6 weeks.

Be prepared to learn all kinds of techniques that can be applied to many different mediums.

In this fun class, creativity and experimentation are key!

This class has 12 hours of instruction, plenty of time to create your own masterpiece! Here is an example of the projects we may work on in this class:

Week 1 – Monoprints

Explore the possibilities of this simple but incredibly satisfying printing method using botanical and natural materials to create super natural prints. Some of these prints will be kept as stand-alone pieces of art, while others will used in upcoming classes. Imagine the possibilities!

Week 2 – Art Alchemy

Explore the different effects that watercolour paint, acrylic inks, marbling, salt, and detergents have on different paper surfaces to achieve fascinating abstract effects. We will be transforming our small scale masterpieces into surreal landscape collages.

Week 3 – Image Transfers

No drawing skills required. We will be exploring different methods of transferring images onto different surfaces and developing an individual series of work based on your own images. We will be discussing theme and repetition.

Week 4 – The Painting Part!

We will be painting without brushes and exploring palette and texture. Using our image transfer methods from week 3 to create surreal self-portraits.

Week 5 – Stamp Making

We will be making our own custom stamps utilizing several different methods. We will then put these new stamps to use and incorporate pattern into old works.

Week 6 – Putting It All Together!

We will be taking your unfinished art that you developed on in the previous 5 weeks to create your own style of finished art works.

* Can’t make them all? Let us know ahead of time and you can jump into a Your Studio or similar class if available (some restrictions apply).

What is included:
All artist quality supplies are included. That means that you just show up!

Who is this class for:
Open to adults of all skill levels.

What to bring:
We have some aprons, but wear clothes that can withstand the elements (i.e. glue, paint, etc.) of a fun, creative art studio.
