Charity Lawn Bowling Day

On August 18, 2018, we will be partnering with KidSport Comox Valley to get more kids off the sidelines and into the game!  This local organization helps remove financial barriers that may keep children from participating in organized sports. 100% of net proceeds will go to KidSport and every dollar raised stays here in the Comox Valley. #SoALLKidsCanPlay!

Last year, KidSport Comox Valley provided over $19,000 of grants to local families for children to participate in a variety of sports. This year, we are going to do our part by sponsoring and coordinating the event. Join us for a fun day of lawn bowling!

Prizes
In addition to the winners receiving recognition on our awesome trophy, we will be awarding prizes from local businesses in the following categories:

  • Highest ranking team
  • Lowest ranking team
  • Most creative attire (voted by players)
  • Best team name (voted by players)

Entry Fee
For your entry, you will receive:

  • Admission to the tournament
  • 1 free alcoholic beverage (beer, wine, coolers)
  • Possibility of winning some fun prizes (see above!)
  • 100% of net proceeds of this event will go to KidSport

What To Bring
Wear comfortable, flexible clothes – team uniforms are encouraged! Wear the flattest sole shoes you have, flip flops are great. It will likely be hot and you are out in the soon – hats, sunscreen, water are all smart things to bring.

Who Can Play
This tournament is for adults with little or no lawn bowling experience. Don’t know how to play – perfect!

Register as a team of 4, or if you don’t have a team we can match you up.

Game Day
10:00am – 10:45am – Registration and a short practice if you want.
11:00am – 1st game – Be here by then!
11:00am – 4:00pm – 3 games with a break for lunch. We may finish before then.

Food & Beverages
We will have various food available for purchase, with all net proceeds to KidSport Comox Valley.

  • Food: BBQ burgers, chips, veggie platters. We will have some gluten free buns and veggie burgers upon request. You’re welcome to bring your own food.
  • Alcoholic beverages: Beer, wine, coolers. Please do not bring your own alcoholic beverages.
  • Non-alcoholic beverages: Soda, water, pop, juice

Registration Process
You tell we are in the business of selling (super fun) art classes, so please ignore the policies parts of your registration – they don’t apply to this special event. But this does:

Your registration is 100% non-refundable. If you need to cancel, please let us know so that we can get someone to take your place to ensure everyone has an opponent to play on Game Day (it’s no fun when people don’t show). We will donate your entry fee to KidSport Comox Valley and thank-you in advance. Remember – this is for the kids!
