Acrylic Painting 2 – Lines, Movement & Kandinsky

Class Description:
This session is Wassily Kandinsky inspired!

In the first class we will do a project that focuses on the use of line to create a painting, then utilize old photographs to create movement in your painting in the following week. The Kandinsky inspired painting you create in week 3 will allow you to learn some of his techniques while touching on some interesting art history.

Then finally, in the last two classes, you will create your own painting based on your chosen reference photo. We will work together to break it down, edit it, then work through the painting process.

Enjoy a coffee or cup of tea and some baked goodies while you practice skills that can be applied to all of your future work.

Note – Students that have taken this class with Jess before know that we do NEW projects every session, so you won’t get bored taking this class multiple times!

What is included:
All supplies are included. That means that you just show up!

Who this class is for:
If you have never painted before, please take the Very Beginner Workshop prior to this class to learn the basic skills of acrylic painting. Level 2 classes are designed for those who have been introduced to the medium and tools and seeking continued learning and practicing. Skill development beyond basics will be the focus. Level 2 classes are ideal to be taken repeatedly.

What to bring:
We have some aprons, but wear clothes that can withstand the elements (i.e. glue, paint, etc.) of a fun, creative art studio. Nothing else is required.
