Acrylic Painting 2 – Pattern, Texture and Yayoi Kusama

Acrylic Painting 2 – Pattern, Texture and Yayoi Kusama

Class Description:
During the first class we will practice incorporating pattern into our paintings. Pattern can add to the feeling of harmony, balance, and unity in a painting.

Moving into the second class, we will get into texture – We will experiment using various techniques and mediums to create a range of textures.

In week three, we will learn some techniques from Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama, while touching on some interesting art history.

Finally in the last two classes, you will create your own painting based on your chosen reference photo. We will work together to break it down, edit it, then work through the painting process.

Enjoy a coffee or cup of tea and some baked goodies while you practice skills that can be applied to all of your future work.

Note – Students that have taken this class with Jess before know that we do NEW projects every session, so you won’t get bored taking this class multiple times!
