Tracy Kobus has been a professional artist in the Comox Valley ever since she won a package of expensive acrylic brushes in the mail twenty years ago.
After completing her B.F.A from U.B.C., Tracy exhibited her acrylic paintings in galleries throughout B.C. Recently she completed large murals for the City of Courtenay, Ecole Puntledge Elementary and the FAe program at NIDES/Navigate.
An avid mountainbiker who is inspired by nature, Tracy says, “my favorite challenge is to create a picture that hasn’t been thought of before”.
Tracy’s work can be found in several gift shops on Vancouver Island – as well as events such as the Central Island Studio Tour or Nautical Days. She has dedicated followers of her monthly email news (tracykobus.com) which she has been writing for ten years.
Tracy is passionate about inspiring others to explore their own creativity. For over a decade she taught art in various programs at North Island College and SD71, as well as her own private classes. Tracy’s art instruction has given some of her students the confidence to pursue a career in fine art.
