Acrylic Painting 3 – Exploring Your Individual Practice

Class Description:
This painting/drawing course is for students who already have a range of observational and material-handling skills, but who are looking for new directions, perspectives, and motivating factors to introduce into their practice. The basis of this class is self-motivated studio work based on your own experience and interests. We begin on the first day by looking at and discussing the type of work that you are attracted to, and then we set out a steady direction for you to work towards over the following weeks. A stimulating period of artistic creation, interaction and growth is assured!

Please note this class is 2.5 hours a week for a total of 12.5 hours of class time.

Students will gain the most out of this class by working in class as well as completing work on their own time.

“I have done paint night type classes before but I learned way more from one night at Lupine than from all the other classes I have taken. The instructors have so much knowledge and really help students to work through the process of making great art.” — Rebecca Schillemat

Who this class is for:
Level 3
Focus: Specialized Learning
Adults only please. This Level 3 class is designed for students that are comfortable working with the tools, mediums and selecting subject matter. These classes typically focus on advancing specific material and creative skills while allowing students to make individual choices on their projects.

What to bring:
Students are generally expected to bring their own work and supplies in this class, but are permitted to use most tools/supplies from the studio. We have aprons, table easels and some standing easels.
Please bring to the first class:

1. A work or two that you have completed in the past that you feel might provide some direction for you.

2. A couple of examples from an artist that you admire that you feel might also provide some direction for you.

Both of these can be in the form of the actual work of art, reproductions in a book, photographs, or images saved on your phone or tablet. The important thing is that we are able to see the images to begin our discussion on your individual direction.

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
